The Eat Local Challenge in Vermont and New Hampshire is entering its
3rd year. The Challenge invites participants to eat only local foods
for a day, week, or month. This year, major office holders in Vermont
took their own Leadership Challenge during the week of July 23rd .

Please join us at a press conference on August 1st, from 11:30 – 11:50
am, in the Cedar Creek Room at the State House to reflect on the
conclusion of the Leadership Challenge, the start of public challenges
that will occur around the state in August and September, and the role
of this consumer movement in promoting local agriculture.
100% Local Cook Off: 12:00 pm, State House Lawn
Following the press conference, we encourage everyone to join us on
the State House Lawn for a local foods cook off that will pit 11 area
chefs against each other in a competition to create the best 100% local
dish. Samples of each dish will be available, along with other Vermont
foods and information tables.
This event is free and open to the public and will happen rain or
shine.
